COUNCIL - THE PRESENT STATUS

ÞThe Council is managed by the democratically elected Executive Committee consisting oftwelve members.While the Secretary acts as the Executive Head, the President acts as the Constitutional Head.The Annual General Meeting of the Council is held every year without fail. The Council’s accounts are audited by qualified Chartered Accountants and the audited accounts are presented in the Annual General Meetings.In every alternate Annual General Meetings, elections are held for electing the members for constituting the Executive Committee, which in turn elects Office-bearers for managing the Council.

ÞThe council enjoys a committed membership.The membership is totally voluntary and the Council can be quite satisfied in the fact that none of the complainants or others have ever been forced to become its members.The Council has about 250 Life Members.

ÞThe Council is probably one of those rare voluntary consumer organisations with so much of success in the quasi-judicial machinery, which does not have any legal professional on its rolls or as advisors.

ÞThe Council has only two part time employees for managing the Council’s office.

ÞThe Council’s activities are very much hampered due to want of a regularoffice, skilled manpower and financial resources.
